Eric Renner i Nancy Spencer

Nancy Spencer i Eric Renner sa dyrektorami Pinhole Resource Inc., organizacji non-profit archiwizującej i zajmującej się rozpowszechnianiem informacji o fotografii otworkowej. Spencer i Renner byli także wydawcami miesięcznika Pinhole Journal, ukazującego się w latach 1985-2006. Prowadzili zajęcia i szkolenia. Pracują razem od 1989. Ich fotografie są wystawiane w rożnych międzynarodowych instytucjach kulturalnych i muzeach na świecie, nie wyłączając Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Nowym Jorku, Kalifornijskiego Muzeum Fotografii, Narodowego Muzeum Kanady, George Eastman House, Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Mexico City, Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Sao Paulo w Brazylii i Biblioteki Narodowej w Paryżu, a ostatnio także w Chinach i Japonii, gdzie nawiązali liczne kontakty z miejscowymi artystami.

Spencer jest autorem pozycji: "Under the Blue" (Flying Monkey Press, 2008) i "Flight" (wraz z Rebeccą Wackler, Flying Monkey Press, 2008). Renner jest autorem "Fotografii Otworkowej: Od Techniki Historycznej do Fotografii Cyfrowej" (Focal Press, 1995, czwarta edycja tej książki wydana została w 2008 roku) oraz "American Disguise" (Flying Monkey Press, 2007).

Spencer i Renner sa stypendystami Narodowej Fundacji Sztuki, Fundacji Aarona Siskinda oraz Fundacji Amerykańsko-Skandynawskiej. Wykładali na wielu uniwersytetach, takich jak: Uniwersytet Stanowy w Nowym Jorku, Visual Studies Workshop, Sweet Briar College, byli też artystami-rezydentami Hollins University w 2002. Zostali finalistami Nagrody Gubernatora Nowego Meksyku za całokształt twórczości i osiągnięcia w sztuce z 2007 roku. Spencer otrzymała stopień naukowy BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) od Hollins University, a Renner BS (Bachelor of Science) na Uniwersytecie Cincinnati i MFA (Master of Fine Arts) na Cranbrook Academy of Art.
Spencer i Renner mieszkają w Mimbres Valley w Nowym Meksyku.

Biography

Nancy Spencer and Eric Renner are co-directors of Pinhole Resource Inc., a nonprofit pinhole photography archive and educational institution dedicated to sharing information about pinhole photography. Spencer and Renner were co-editors of Pinhole Journal, published from 1985-2006. They give lectures and workshops internationally and have worked collaboratively since 1989. Their photographs are exhibited internationally and collected in major museums throughout the world, including Museum of Modern Art (New York), California Museum of Photography, National Gallery of Canada, George Eastman House, Museum de Arté Moderno ( Mexico City ), Museu de Arté Moderno (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Bibliothéque Nationale (Paris). Recently they had exhibitions in China and Japan where they were also visiting artists.

Spencer is the author of Under the Blue  (Flying Monkey Press, 2008) and Flight  (with Rebecca Wackler, Flying Monkey Press, 2008). Renner is the author of Pinhole Photography: From Historic Technique to Digital Application  (Focal Press, 1995; Fourth Edition, 2008) and American Disguise  (Flying Monkey Press, 2007).

Spencer and Renner have received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Aaron Siskind Foundation, and the American-Scandinavian Foundation. They have taught at many universities including State University of New York, Visual Studies Workshop, Sweet Briar College and were Artists-in Residence at Hollins University in 2002. They were finalists for the New Mexico Governor's Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2007. Spencer holds a BFA degree from Hollins University and Renner holds a BS degree from the University of Cincinnati and an MFA degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. 

Spencer and Renner live in the Mimbres Valley, New Mexico.
